The name of the village refers to a place where monks would have practiced asceticism in the past. Its permanent population amounts to 400 people, while in the summer it exceeds 1000, as the cottages and the few guesthouses are filled with vacationers.

In the shade of the village square you will enjoy local delicacies, while the local association plans everything and some interesting events. You can wander around the square, the narrow picturesque streets, visit the peak of Profitis Ilias with a view of the Aegean Sea and enjoy hiking and cycling trails in the neighboring forests.
Lake
A scenic 3 km. route through a dense chestnut forest leads to this unique water reservoir, created a few years ago to hold rainwater. If you visit during the summer months, when the water is scarce, you will encounter an almost lunar landscape. Tree trunks emerge from the water, creating an eerie setting! Experts tip: Take mosquito repellent with you. You'll need it!

On the old road from Agia to Skete, the stone bridge of Alamanos has stood since 1858. It is an ornament for the area and was the only access to the settlement of Skete in the past. At the same time, on the road from Agia to Agiokampos, you will come across the Monastery of Saints Anargyroi, where in a short distance, in the recess of a rock, the hermitages with hagiographies from the 12th century are preserved.
